Loro Boriçi Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Shkodër, Albania currently used mostly for football matches and home ground of Vllaznia Shkodër. The stadium holds 16,000 spectators and was reconstructed in 2001. It is named in honour of Loro Boriçi, a famous player in the 1940s and 1950s. The stadium is also the second largest stadium in Albania behind the Qemal Stafa stadium in Tirana.〔 Since May 2015, the stadium is undergoing major reconstruction works including the building of several new side stands.〔http://www.panorama.com.al/fotot-ja-si-do-te-duket-loro-borici-i-ri/〕 ==History== Built in 1953 and named after Vojo Kushi, a World War II hero, it was renamed in the 1990s after Loro Boriçi, a famous player from the city in the 1940s and 1950s, who notably was the reserve of Silvio Piola at SS Lazio. The stadium hosted the Albania national football team in a 29 March 2003 match against Russia, for the UEFA Euro 2004 qualifiers.
